Yeah I just got thru last night playing for the first myself as a giant and what can I say I was very impressed in the race's performance
Not only did a lot of ppls thoughts of them being a crap race but a lot of the high end players were thinking of switch over to them as their main ( a Bravehearts Member and well known 9x Agi Avenger Flare ) this just say something by itself.
First off I want to say that the builds people were thinking for them ( including myself a bit still I saw the actual skills [not watching Suichi play ] ) Instead of the predicted 1 Vit 3 Dex or the 3 Str 1 Dex Build the truth was revealed at last !!
The Build for Giant are the following:
If you are planning to go Savage ( specialize in Dual Swords )
You want to go 3 Str + 1 Vit
While if you are going Beserker ( turned out to be a higher lvl fave but them learning it sux and whining non stop on Enott chat waves )
You want to use Polearms and go
3 Str 1 Agi
Yeah in otherwords this entire race is based on going str and the surprising thing about this race that startled me the most is that for a lv 15 Character to have more Vit than a Vit Dekan at lv 30 is just plain nuts ( My Giant @ lv 19 with over 2200 HP with a lv 3 Battle Cry ) however I don't think this will make Vit Dekans disappear since Giants don't focus on skills that use HP to use like the Dekan Heath Funnel, Health to Mana, and Forefootswing. Still the Giants have pretty much with their presence eliminated the creation of Str Guards, Str Dekans, and Str Dhans completely since the Giant pretty covers this Role far better.
As for actual gameplay I was going with 3 Str 1 Vit ( every 5 2 Str 2 Vit ) and was completely wrecking mobs of 5 to 6 monsters in them at a time and only taking minimal Damage ( these mobs are all around my current level or 1 to 2 levels higher just to give you an idea ) However since I was going Dual Sword no AOEs to handle all of the at once but due to the overwhelming amount of HP and Def I could weather the attacks ( and due to Giant high intial agi dodge about 50% of attacks ) and when I could turn my attention and snuff out the aggressors. Oddly I found myself switching alot between diffent monsters in a mob dealing a bunch of damage before moving to another one. This not only weakened the entire mob but quickened the grinding process ( basically same concept as order swing and crazy standing just only really low level without both skills )
Weapons I would suggest would be the gear that reflects damage and/or absorbs MP since Giants don't really have much at all and you need to pot constantly ( this maybe my fault since I liked spamming Bereave and the other Str based Attacks of Dual Sword stance ). Also I suggest using lots of Dex Rings for this class to help with hitting with this class. Vit Option are fun as well but not necessary if you are going for Beserker.
While going for skills I suggest going for the mid tree buffs and the accuracy buff ASAP while thinking secondary on attack skills and your elemental toggle skill.
