Crow VS Dark Signer Bommer. Yusei has come to stop the two from fighting, but Crow pleads with Yusei to let him continue his fight for revenge. Reasons being that, when he was a child, it was Duel Monsters cards that taught the lonely Crow how to read and write and strategy, and that these cards garnered him friends as well. Because those painful memories are memories that he doesn't want children to go through, Crow connected with the children. He goes on to say that he will make the Dark Signers pay for getting rid of the children.

*The subbed preview I posted was way off, so I'm writing out the one on Shriek since they are far more reliable:

Yusei: Crow, Bommer. You have to stop this! The wounds inflicted to your hearts are the same! You both should be able to understand each other!
Bommer. Was that future we tried to search for in the sky, which we admired that one time, just this fight!?

Crow: Yusei, that's not going to work! If your a friend, then have a good look at our duel!

Yusei: Next time, on Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's: At the Ends of the Emotions Spun by the Cards. Riding Duel! Acceleration!


This episode the duel is going to get really interesting: Bommer plays Giant Bommer Airraid once more! And it looks like it's going to own Crow pretty hard. Crow though from the looks of it, is going to use the Black Feather monsters in Ancient Sanctuary to make his comeback.

They both are so awesome I don't know who I want to root for.
Basically they are both fighting for the same thing. Crow is sad over his family (the kids). and Bommer even though partly brainwashed still fights for his lost family (aka his siblings and village).

From the subs of 51 that I just saw and a very different translation of 52 preview, here are my thoughts on this upcoming week:

Bommer is brainwashed, also gullible, but definitely brainwashed. He has no idea that the path he is following now is far worse than what Goodwin did because Goodwin destroying the village was at least an accident; the Dark Signers are deliberate.

Crow is definitely not thinking too straight at the moment, but he is hellbent on doing something to make them pay. This is definitely going to be an interesting duel, especially since Yusei has to watch a close friend fight a person he sympathizes with (I don't know, does sharing a couch for the opening day and a night staring at stars make them friends?)

its not brainwashed, really. its Hate. the Dsigners are possessed by Hatred. just look at carly. she was INSANE when she was dueling, but once it passed she was back to her old self. each of the Dsigners show different levels of this insanity. Kiryu the most, Misty the least.

from what i see, Bommer's mind is utterly clouded by fury, it just manifests in a much calmer manner.

I understand that, actually quite clearly. However though, brainwashing is not just that simple. What I said on on Pojo or Janime is that what Rudger and the Earthbound gods did was freeze-frame Bommer's mind on defeating Goodwin and the other Signers. When that hatred is resolved (as when Divine dies) then they can start thinking more clearly, which is what I think is the only reason Carly reverted back to her old personality.

One thing that definitely points to Rudger manipulating Bommer is that while Bommer was over the Negative Momentum, Rudger said to get even with Goodwin is to defeat Yusei, and all of a sudden Bommer's primary goal in his undead life is to seek out Yusei and take him down. Something does not add up, as does Bommer not realizing that he's a part of an organization that is doing worse things than Goodwin, so I think Rudger shaped Bommer's hatred to be useful to himself.

On a sidenote: Goodwin was reckless and the village was an accident; Rudger is deliberate and wiped out the B.A.D. sector of Satellite as a declaration of war. Bommer is going to really despise himself if the Dark Signer influence over him breaks because he is part of a cause that is more unforgivable than Goodwin at the moment.

I like your arguement Mockingbird however I'm gonna have to point out a few faults.

-Its Godwin, not the dub Goodwin.
-If Carly had been brainwashed by her hatred, seeing as its now been resolved why is she still as Dark Signer? What purpose would she have to continue as a DS and why out of all the Signers would she face JACK? (I'm still doing it Linx =P)
-It has never been said that what Godwin did to Bommers village was an accident. And from what has been said (that he used it as a guinea pig) it seems more likely that it wasn't an accident.

So apart from those points I can see where your coming from but also where Linx is coming from.

I call him Goodwin because before Carly died, she found a fill that said "Rex=Goodwin" (= signs are how names can be separated that are not written out in Japanese which normally uses a raised dot.) I still call him Godwin every now and then, but you are right

Carly is a still a Dark Signer because she is dead. However, I do concede that we do not know enough at this time to fully understand what is going on with her or everything behind the Dark Signers in general.

Well, Akutsu/Zigzix in 26 seemed to indicate it might have been a accident rather than deliberate, but you're right, I'm still jumping the gun.

So apart from those points I can see where your coming from but also where Linx is coming from.

Oh well, at this point and time I don't care because I get to see Giant Bommer Airraid shooting and blowing things up again. ;D I've always had a thing for well designed giant robots.

Epi better be good, I've been bored stiff since epic winter animes finished over the past week ;P. Crow on Manual Mode will be interesting to say the least, wonder just how intense things will be between him and Bommer. I do wonder where the others will be [or whatever else, doesn't seem they're going to turn away from their duties in hunting down their target DS], Yusei seems to turn up at every duel, and there I was thinking he was going after Kiryu.

just to clarify something. Carly's motivation is simple.

she's dead. she accepts she's dead. and she wants JACK to be the one to kill her in a Yami no Game. She died thinking only of being with JACK again, and a duel will give her that, and peace. she'll likely confess her love to him. after she's done going berserk during the duel as she did with Divine. she has unwavering faith in JACK's strength.

its not really this episode.... but i felt it should be said. and no i dont have a script, i'm just a novelist with a specialty in Story-writing. i know what to look for and how to infer things. im not always right but even when im wrong its good insight on what the writers are thinking

i cannot really call whats happening "brainwash". brainwash is to assume that THEY made him believe what he does. but he has long set in his mind that Godwin murdered his village. even without Rudger's pushing, he probably would have become a Dark Signer. for undone vengeance. he's just a rather peaceful, honorable person, so it manifests... strangely. thus why it looks as though he's been brainwashed. and the signers, especially yusei, act as Godwin's "knights". i see no issue with this connection.

Awe look at the cute chibi Crow, Jack, and Yusei. I love the way they wear the same type clothes as they currently wear.

Wow I think Bommer's DS side took over after that big close crash when he came back with the ships instead of the planes. At first it seemed like he just wanted to get Crow out of the way so he could get to Yusei not he seems genuanly ticked.
