Subs made this episode even better than when I watched it on Wednesday.
I don't know about you, but JACK in this episode made me proud of him. I mean, this guy was totally different than from what he was like in episode 1. And he even admitted to his mistakes of doing so. That's why I felt guilty about not liking Carly until she died and was reborn as a Dark Signer since she was responsible for the epic character development in JACK.
And yay for Fudou conversation subbed, though somehow I knew Daddy Fudou was telling Yusei he was sorry about placing a burden on him when I watched the episode the first time.
And, chibi Carly in the beginning anyone?

Yup, it worked~. And like Natsumi, a while after Carly became a Dark Signer, I felt guilty for not liking her to begin with. But I'm so glad she could attain some happiness with JACK before she died again. I really squealed reading the subtitles that he had confessed he loved her. It's just so tragic that there was only one way for their duel to end, especially as JACK was willing to die with her ;______________;.
Oyah; yay for Jesus Yusei getting out of Hell.

i do have a complaint, though. this extends to 58.
CARLY'S D-WHEEL IS JUST A RECOLOR OF KIRYU'S! Go back and check even. The writing is stunning but animation team! don't just do a recolor. ):
...oh well. thas my only complaint. aside from the whole Killing Off My Favorite Character thing.
(yes, i DID grow to like CARLY even more than JACK. probably due to re-watching all of 5Ds in three days, the CARLY-centric eps twice. and now her name gets the all-caps treatment too. may as well seeing how the person saying her name most of the time is JACK and he does nothing but scream it in these two eps. lawl.)

inb4 the gasps that linxy actually liked CARLY that much cuz since shes a fangirl she must obv~ hate all straight pairings and especially the woman involved.
(though i DO wanna kill Mikage at this point. she just annoys me. srs. shes far worse than Aki as far as Annoying-Sidekick goes. at least Aki has her moments and a compelling back-story but Mikage? nothin. And considering her position of intelligence within the Yliaster through Rex... wouldn't that make her at least in her mid-twenties? what a pedo. why couldn't SHE have died?)

Carly has much more potential to grow than Mikage. How long has it been since anything new from her? She's been the same basic character right from the start, she hasn't developed in the least. Whereas Carly's grown right from her introduction, she's played a massive part in the plot since S2 began, Mikage's done less than fricking Jeager. So why bother keeping her? That's something I want to know. Are they just planning for her to try and fail licking JACK's wounds after he lost Carly? There's nothing for her to do; do a deal with the Mekai no Oh and trade her for Carly. As for Aki, she's as good as dead to me by the time 61 is done. She'll be clinging onto Yusei like there's no tomorrow. It'll only heighten the Faithshippers' urges. GAH >_<. Better idea; Mikage and Aki for Carly and Kiryu. I mean, what's Mikage going to do now that JACK X Carly is ACTUALLY canon, she's going to have to notice how JACK feels beyond the duel and that she'll stand no chance. Ditto with Aki to Yusei without losing the woman he loved. All I see are two women that need to get off the main guys and realize they're not gettng what they want. After all, I've been after Yusei way longer than Aki has ;P. |

Random side note: And while they're getting rid of Aki and Mikage, they can get rid of Rally. I mean, really. What positive purpose did he serve for the series? (I mean, besides the chip he gave Yusei way in the first episode) Yeah. I hate Rally. He can go die in a hell fire. xP I guess you can say the same for Taka, Blitz, and Nerve, but have they really gotten on anyone's nerves recently? Mikage annoyed me since she first appeared. And personally, 59 crossed the line for me. You just had an emotional JACK x Carly moment where JACK didn't want to see Carly go. (And during the duel where JACK said he'd die along with her. ;-  And what do we get at the end? A rabid fangirl (in a bad way) moment, courtesy of Mikage. I don't know about you, but Mikage sounded a bit too happy for me after the duel, like she was glad Carly was gone. Thus, crossing the line. I can handle JACK x Carly now being a canon pairing, but in the next episodes, if they decide to make Faithshipping a canon . . . I will be beyond pissed. Especially in the 'state' Aki is in now. Shadowshipping FTW. ;P |

Um. actually. Mikage has no idea Carly became and D*Signer. in fact, she thinks his beating the D*Signer will save Carly. i dont think mikage meant any ill will. in fact, shes pretty much realized and accepted that JACK loves Carly. HOWEVER, Mikage still can go die. im sick of her.
and her fangirly reaction was just UGH... He has said like 150 times "im not KING" yet she STILL says it. IMO thats really rude. if it clearly strikes a nerve, STOP IT. but does she? no. she hasnt learned since episode freaking EIGHT to stop.
