If a card in one of the standard sets is a reprint of a card in previous sets, is the version from previous sets still legal for use? Say you use a playset of Kird Ape from revised in a zoo deck as opposed to a 9th edition Kird Ape playset. Or instead of a Ravnica Birds of Paradise use the 7th Edition version Cave of Koilos is available in 9th edition and apocalypse. I'm able to get a playset from apocalypse pretty cheap, and was wondering if I would be allowed to use it in standard format or would I have to go out and search for Cave of Koilos from 9th edition for my deck to be legal? I noticed from video footage at the pro tour in standard format some of the dual lands were older. The kird ape one player had in their zoo deck was from revised, etc, so I imagine if they're able to use the same card but from an older set at pro tour it's perfectly legal, but then again i could be wrong and many judges and TOs at a standard tournament would want my deck to use only cards from the legal sets in standard, regardless if the card is printed in an older set. Some info would be appreciated. Thanks.

By the Gods you stoopid f**king sped monkey!! ( followed by a dee-dee-dee ) As long as the cards is the same card you can use it like a BOP from 7th or 8th can be used in type two even though BOP is in COG!

Wow that is really bad that you didin't know that. Plus with Timeshifted Cards you can use the older versions as well!
